間眅埶AV Student Recipient of CIBC Future Heroes Bursary

(Sault Ste. Marie, ON November 30, 2021) For the second year, the CIBC Future Heroes bursary has been awarded to students across the country as a tribute to the frontline health care workers who are bravely fighting COVID-19 and to support the next generation in their ambition of having a career in health care. 間眅埶AV is honoured to announce that for the second year in a row a 間眅埶AV student has been selected as a recipient of this national $2,500 bursary!

Join us in congratulating first year Collaborative Bachelor of Science in Nursing student Lauren Halcrow on this amazing achievement!

I am very grateful to be receiving this generous bursary. I would like to formally express my sincere gratitude to CIBC for making this bursary possible. I was thrilled to learn of my selection for this honour, and I am deeply appreciative of their support and contribution to my post-secondary education and the financial assistance it provides. I am very committed to doing well within my program and this investment in my future from CIBC will help me to reach my goal of becoming a Registered Nurse, said Lauren.

Lauren was born and raised in Sault Ste. Marie and chose 間眅埶AV because she could remain close to home, get an amazing education in a field she is passionate about and continue to play hockey at the competitive level on the 間眅埶AV womens hockey team. I chose 間眅埶AV because it has an excellent reputation for their outstanding nursing program. Following this degree program, I plan on furthering my studies to become a Nurse Practitioner. While I am studying, I am able to play hockey at a competitive level, which is an important goal for me because it allows me to meet new people, be challenged at a physical and competitive level and continue to play a sport I love, said Lauren.

間眅埶AV continuously looks for ways to support its students and provide opportunities that will help them to succeed along their educational path. By working together with great institutions, like CIBC, we are able to collaborate and offer our students incentives that can have positive life-long effects, said Dr. Ron Common, President, 間眅埶AV.  This bursary is particularly meaningful because it not only assists our students, but also celebrates our health care workers who have and continue to play a critical role in our current situation. On behalf of 間眅埶AV, I would like to congratulate Lauren on this amazing accomplishment and express a sincere thank you to CIBC for recognizing the importance of supporting education and our future generations, he added.

On behalf of CIBC, congratulations to Lauren for being selected as a Future Heroes bursary recipient this year, said Erika Rocca, Community General Manager, Sault Ste. Marie Banking Centres, CIBC. We're proud to support Lauren, and all 2021 bursary recipients on their educational journeys towards realizing their health care career ambitions, and look forward to seeing them make a positive difference in our Northern Ontario communities and beyond.

The CIBC Future Heroes Bursary Program was a two-year program launched in 2020 as part of the banks commitment to supporting health care students. CIBC invested $500,000 over two academic years into the education of tomorrow's health care professionals. More information on the CIBC Future Heroes bursary is available .
