Marie, ON June 30, 2021) 間眅埶AV is proud and excited to announce that it has once again been recognized for its commitment to enhancing diversity and inclusion as the recipient of the Sault Ste. Marie Chamber of Commerce Outstanding Business Achievement Award for Diversity! In addition to this honour, an important member of our College community Barbara Nolan an Elder-in-Residence was the recipient of the Indigenous Professional of the Year Award!
The Diversity Award recognizes a business or organization that embraces, celebrates and applies holistic inclusion and participation of a diverse people making the workplace a better environment in which to work, and the community a better place in which to live, work and raise a family.
間眅埶AV is home to a diverse student and staff community, including more than 1500 international and Indigenous students. 間眅埶AV received this award in 2017 and has remained focused on and dedicated to fostering an invitational campus and workplace that respects, embraces and values diversity. We are honoured to be recognized for these ongoing efforts and for our deep commitment to celebrating diversity within our organization, said Dr. Ron Common, President 間眅埶AV.
間眅埶AV also congratulates Barbara Nolan on being the recipient of the Indigenous Professional of the Year Award. This award is presented to a person who has made an impact in the Indigenous, Metis and Sault Ste. Marie communities and in so doing so, serves as an inspiration to us all.
Barbaras dedication, passion and commitment to working with Indigenous communities and her work in language retention is inspiring. She is a recognized Indigenous role model and advocate who has remained dedicated to the advancement of language revitalization, Indigenous education and excellence in lifelong learning. She has and continues to provide incredible support to our students and has made a significant impact within 間眅埶AV and beyond. It was with great pride that we nominated her for this prestigious award to acknowledge her tremendous efforts, added Dr. Common.

The vision of 間眅埶AV is to provide a transformative life experience through empowering those who study with us to think and learn in progressive, innovative ways, including those we have not yet imagined. 間眅埶AV grants Ontario College certificates, diplomas, advanced diplomas, graduate certificates, and degrees to its graduates. The College is the largest deliverer of apprenticeship training in all of Northern Ontario.
